Hello, I'm Mark Dalpra, a Chicago-based production designer with over 15 years of experience creating commercial work. I'm a hands-on, non-union designer who leads an organized, efficient art department capable of handling projects of any size.

A well-run department keeps productions moving. My team takes pride in being prepared, responsive, and proactive, ensuring props are built, dressed, cleaned, and in place before they're needed. We run a tight ship, allowing directors and ADs to focus on the work instead of chasing down the art department.

After 15 years in commercial production, I've developed a strong instinct for budgeting, problem-solving, and finding practical solutions that maximize every dollar without sacrificing the creative vision.

MSDP Inc., my full-service shop, supports productions with in-house fabrication, 3D printing, vinyl plotting, wide-format printing, custom prop and set construction, and an extensive prop inventory. Having these capabilities under one roof allows us to move quickly, adapt to changing needs, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.

I love a challenge. Commercial production is full of unusual requests, impossible timelines, and unexpected obstacles. Solving those problems creatively and efficiently is one of the most rewarding parts of the job—and one of the reasons I still love doing it.
